Is there going to be a meteor shower tonight?
Meteor showers are not single-night events, they usually last for several nights to several weeks. The Leonid meteor shower is from Nov 14 to Nov 21, with the peak on Nov 17. This particular shower is irregular, meaning that the number of meteors and the intensity is unpredictable year to year. Meteors take patience and time. You need clear, dark skies far from city lights. Most meteor showers are best after local midnight until an hour before dawn. You need to sit (I prefer to have a lawn chair) and just watch the skies – but there are no guarantees you’ll see anything.
