Is there fragmentation in DOCSIS 1.0+?

0

A. No. However, DOCSIS 1.0+ CMTS can still provide good realtime CBR service since the absence of fragmentation causes a few msecs of extra jitter for the CBR slots (which is within typical VoIP design budgets for local access links). In addition, DOCSIS 1.0+ does not have packet classification and payload header suppression, both of which are slated for the DOCSIS 1.1 release.
