Is there extra servicing with RES equipment?

No. The boilers and furnaces require an annual service much like a conventional system. There is however an additional maintenance process which will need to be carried out three to four times a year if RFO is used as the main type of fuel. This takes about twenty minutes per machine. For customers using used engine oil, the combustion process creates an ash residue that sticks to the inside of the boiler walls. This will need to b cleaned off every 600 – 700 hours of running time. A boiler running at 7 hours per day in the winter will need to be cleaned every 85 days. We have maintenance contracts available for this purpose. Vegetable oil users will not have to follow this cleaning process. Return to top of page.
