Is there evidence of erosion deposition and transportation in hunstanton and weybourne hope?
Not much evidence of deposition at Hunstanton. Erosion yes. Look at the base of the cliffs. The sandstone is being undercut by wave action, also at low tide, under the cliffs, you can see rock pools in amongst the old erroded base of the cliffs. At the top, especially along Cliff Parade, one can see parts of the old fences that once kept people back from the edge. Last time I looked there were the remains of three old fences in front of the current one. The promenade is being undercut in various places and again’ looking at the beach groins one can see a higher level of sand on one side, evidence of long shore drift. The sand dunes at Old Hunstanton are always being cut into, as can be seen by the old Pill Box up at the Holme end, which, when I was a lad, sat on the top of the Dunes. It is now virtually submerged on the beach several yards from the dunes. The Green in front of the Lighthouse used to be about 40 yards wide. It is now 12 yards at best.
