Is there currently a Cholestin clinical study at the University of Quelph in Canada?
A. Yes, there is a study that is going to be done in Canada at the University of Quelph. We are not sponsoring the study, but Pharmanex will be supplying them with the product. We believe the University is interested in looking to see if Cholesin is more or less effective in combination with other ingredients. Q. I thought Pharmanex was the only company that was able to use the ‘monascus purpureus went’ formula to control cholesterol levels. I came across a product called Cholesterex (by Oralabs Inc in Engelwood CO) that uses the exact same formula. Was I incorrect in this assumption? A. Pharmanex has a patent pending on the manufacturing process to produce Cholestin, not on the monascus purpureus went itself.
