Is there concern about Dr. Lees case outside of the Asian American community?
Yes. A number of professional science organizations have protested the treatment of Dr. Lee, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Physical Society, Committee of Concerned Scientists, and New York Academy of Sciences. Other organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union, labor unions, the National Baptist Coalition and other churches have expressed similar concerns.
