Is there away to tell difference between a diamond, Sapaphire,& Crystal color ?
There are several things you can do to differentiate between diamonds and lookalikes. Historically, diamond look-alikes have included glass, zircon, and white sapphire. Modern diamond look-alikes include YAG (yttrium aluminum garnet), GGG (gadolinium gallium garnet), and synthetic cubic zirconia (CZ). As you look at diamonds and become more familiar with their characteristics, you will be less likely to be fooled by diamond imitations. If the stone that you are looking at has bearding, a frosted girdle, or included crystals inside of it, odds are that it’s a diamond. Another key factor in separating diamond from fakes is the weight of the stone. A CZ weighs approximately twice that of a diamond, so if you’re looking at a stone that appears to be a one carat stone in size and it weighs almost 2 carats you have reasonable cause to be concerned. Remember that carat refers to the weight of a stone and NOT the size. A good magnification (20X or larger) can also help tell the difference beyw
