Is there anyway to reverse my vegtable plants from dying from over fertilization?
Usually it is pretty hard to overfertilize with the applicator on your hose because it mixes it up at the correct concentration. You may have some other problems going on. Is it different types of veggies or just one type (i.e. the tomatoes are dying, but everything else is great). A couple things that could be at play here: Insect pests: if you have lots of new transplants, it could be cutworms or clipper beetles. If you are further south where the season is a bit further along, it could be aphids or leafhoppers. Most of these can be controlled naturally with beneficial nematodes (you can buy them a number of places, but the best company for them is Becker Underwood in Ames, IA). Blights: are you watering at night? If so, your plants are stay damp overnight. That is a perfect breeding ground for a number of blights and other diseases.
