Is there anyway to hook up my laptop to my tv to watch movies?
There are several ways depending on your TV and Laptop S-Video – simple cheap cable if your laptop has this type of connection, nearly all TVs do. VGA – Gives much better quality than S-video uses a regular monitor cable, however you will probably only find this on an HDTV DVI – If your TV and Laptop have a DVI connection, probably the best connection alongside HDMI, again only on HDTV HDMI – you computer will not have this but you can get a DVI to HDMI cable to connect to it HDMI is compatible with DVI ( you guessed it…only on an HDTV) Scan converter – this is a box that can convert a VGA signal to S-Video or component video There are VGA to S-Video cables but these only work if your video card will output S-video out the VGA port. You would have to check with HP on that.
