Is there anyway I can get out of my employment contract?

K might work in a solicitors office but no employer can legally hold money that you have legally earned. No one should work under those conditions and i would have walked the first time anyone spoke to me like that. Everyone has the right to dignity and respect at work regardless of who they work for and the job they do. Put a letter together giving examples of her verbal abuse and state that you are resigning due to her bullying and that the notice takes place with immediate effect. Keep a copy of this letter and walk. If the boot was on the other foot and you were abusive to her she would have sacked you on the spot and said it was gross misconduct. Contracts of employment are a two way thing and can be broken by either party. If you are really worried about quitting on the spot give your legally required notice then get your GP to sign you off with stress, and tell him everything. If you don’t recieve any money for work you have already done then apply for it through the small claim
