Is there anyway i can claim no claims bonus on my dads insurance?

Hello No it is your dads NCB not yours. Unless you had one of the new policies which stipulate that the Policy holder and Named drivers accumulate NCB (Admiral I think) the only one that can use the NCB is the policy holder.

Some companies do offer the chance to build up a no claims driving history when you are named as the second driver. I have a friend who has a bu ilding society based policy and that is what is happening and he has it in writing. What they will look at closely is if you are a young driver with no history and the possibility that you drive on your dad’s insurance as part of ‘fronting’. You may find that they are unhelpful if they have the slightest doubt as to what and why.

Nope. The no claims benefit goes to your dad’s benefit since the insurance was in his name, not yours. But you can certainly ask the insurance company. The worse they can say is NO! The best they can say is YES!

My friend said she is insured on her dads insurance but still earning her no claims bonus. I have no idea how she is doing it. I think her dad has some sort of difference insurance because he makes cars. But im in the same situation as you, keep ringing the insurance places and just ask. I havent found one yet though.

No chance. No claims bonuses are accrued by policyholders. Some firms do give them to named drivers but that does not transfer to other companies and stays in effect only if you get your policy with the same insurer.
