Is there anyway for an Okidata Microline 590 dot matrix printer to recognize Quickbasic 4.5 “LPrint” and other printer code when hooked up to a USB port to printer port conversion?

I also have a PCI printer port installed on my computer but it doesn’t recognize Quickbasic print code either. The motherboard printer port is defective and I hate to have to replace the whole board. Any help/suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time. Regards, Buddy E.
