Is there anything unique or special about the UNH Medical Laboratory Science program?
UNH students may minor in Health Management. Completing this minor gives students broad information about the health care system and skill in management and supervision, and prepares them for leadership positions in the future. There is also the Research Track in the Medical Laboratory Science department that prepares students for a career in biomedical research in universities, medical schools, the diagnostic products industry, the biomedical industry, government health agencies, etc. Students pursuing this option do not have a clinical internship in the senior year, and instead stay on campus and take advanced courses in Microbiology, Genetics, etc., depending on the field of interest. Students in this track have the option of setting up a research internship at any time during the four-year program, either in a lab on campus, or in research laboratories in the area.
