I’ve worked at a pet store for 4 years and I personally don’t recomend a child to have a Chinchilla that young. I beleive children should start off with something easy, like a g-pig or a rabbit..but since you already have it you’ll have to make the best of the situation. • First of all they are fairly easy to care for, similar to a rabbit and g-pig in that aspect. Clean they’re cage when it smells/is dirty/no matter what after about a week (maybe 2 if your lucky). Make sure that when you clean it, you clean it like you would dishes-hot water and soap. • DO NOT get a chinchilla wet, not even slightly. If you do they will get a cold and die within a few days. When you wash they’re cages and cage accesories make sure everything is completely dry. • Chinchillas bath in a fine, I guess you can say “sparkly” dust called chinchilla dust. Make sure they’re is an enclosed hut sometimes called a chinchilla bath hut, for them to go in to hide out and for you to put a little bit (about a cup, mayb
