Sometimes it’s due to the fact that medical people are incapable of finding a real cause for a health problem and they blame it on weight. It’s a nice cop-out. Your obstetrician would be monitoring the baby at regular intervals and you would have had an ultra-sound at this point to reassure you that the baby is fine. My obstetrician told me at the time of both my pregnancies I’d be fine and not to worry about the weight issue while I was pregnant, as long as I was generally healthy and ate healthy foods for the baby and myself, and walked daily.
