Is there any way to use Liquid Nails without a caulking gun?
If you are asking how you can use the big tube of liquid nails you bought without a caulking gun, the only way is to cut it open. The contents is not under pressure. Use a disposable knife or other object to scoop out the glue and apply it where needed. Be careful. This stuff is sticky. It won’t hurt your skin, but it will stick to it, and anything else. It also “strings” as you touch and remove the knife to different places. Doing it this way will be a mess, and waste the glue you don’t use. I hope this helps.
I had a project all ready and tried to get Liquid Nails to work without a caulking gun. I read the reply here, but decided it wasn’t good enough and I was going to figure a solution! (or just make a mess and feel pathetic :)) Didn’t want to waste my 28 oz bottle, but was going to finish my project tonight. I put my knee in middle of bottle and all my weight, and the bottom popped off of the bottle. It didn’t explode, but just came off enough I could remove it all the way. I used a long nail and scooped out enough to finish the job! Replaced the bottom, and saved the canister! I even had to open a second time and I could feel the air pressure back inside. Now my project is done and I’m here to report back to you fine people….if you prepped and don’t want to waste the prep work upon determining the bottle won’t be squeezed by hand….take a knee!
