Is there any way to straighten out a DVD thats warped?
How did it get warped? It is likely it was exposed to heat. DVD’s or CD’s do not spontaneously warp. There is always a reason. Now, as to what you can DO. Weight by itself will likely do little to nothing. You not only need to press with a weight, but also apply an increasing amount of heat until it softens enough to flatten. Use wax paper or parchment paper on both sides of the DVD. A plain ordinary hair dryer that you use to blow dry your hair is fine. I have acrylic sheets of plastic, about 1/4″ thick which do not melt. They will burn from heating rather than melt. The point is they are smooth, clear plastic. I have sandwiched a CD between and used a hair dryer to flatten CD’s I left on the back seat of my car and in the sun so they ended up curved to match the curve of the back seat cushions. Weight by itself will do little, but weight with a little heat should do the trick to flatten the disk. Remember one critical thing, the data is actually on the back side of the label. A scrat
