Not sure if you’ve tried it, but taking Mefenamic Acid (on prescription form GP) 500mg 3 times a day will help slow down the flow is a way, it clots the blood so the period isn’t so heavy and acts as an anti-inflammatory for the pain and tenderness side of things. It does work quite well and you can take paracetamol with them too. You’ve said no to the combined pill, but have you considered the Progestogen-only pill or Depo-Provera injection? The heavy bleeding could be down to having too much oestrogen therefore these methods may help you.
