Is there any way to speed up floppy disk loading times in WinUAE?
Yes. Under the ‘Disk Drives’ tab you have ‘Floppy drive emulation speed’, which can be set from 100% to 800% or Turbo mode. This works with a lot of games, but not all. Alternatively, you can hold down End and press Pause/Break to put WinUAE into Turbo mode. Another nice feature is creating a ‘Save State’ (see the ‘Misc’ tab in WinUAE) as soon as the game has loaded. Then the next time you want to play, you can skip the loading and jump straight back in at that point.
