Is there any way to save a stainless steel or aluminum stock pot that has started to rust?

I got a new stock pot. I’m not sure if its aluminum or stainless steel. It started to rust only after two weeks from the date of purchase. I can see rust dots on the whole thing! Must be Stainless, Aluminum doesn’t rust.
