Small tears or holes often can be repaired with a liquid vinyl. With patience, this is a repair job you can do with surprisingly good results. It certainly is worth a try prior to paying for an expensive new upholstery job. Liquid vinyl is available in any store that carries auto parts and supplies. It is available in kits designed for use in repairing car interiors, but should work just as well on your upholstered chair. With a spatula, rub the liquid in the hole or tear. Place a piece of “graining paper” over the liquid vinyl and slide an iron over the paper for up to 60 seconds to let the vinyl cure; consult the manufacturer’s directions for the temperature setting of the iron. The hole should be repaired upon removal of the iron and paper. The trick is to find liquid vinyl in a color that matches your chair. Liquid vinyl comes in a variety of colors, or you can buy a complete repair kit, which has six or seven colors, spatula, various patterns of graining paper and instructions. If
