Is there any way to increase dopamine without taking street drugs or smoking cigs?
Wellbutrin, also known as Zyban, is a dopamine reupatake inhibitor just like nicotine is — it increases the levels of dopamine in your brain by slowing down the rate at which it’s reabsorbed. It’s a prescription drug that’s used for stopping smoking, in which case it’s called Zyban, or as an antidepressant, in which case it’s called Wellbutrin, even though they’re the same. You could also consider using nicotine in another form — the Chinese e cigarettes, say, or the Commit nicotine lozenges which you can get at the local pharmacy. No prescription required but Wellbutrin may be safer since as far as I know it doesn’t affect your circulatory system the way nicotine does. And of course nicotine is addictive.
