Is there any way to get switched from frame relay to ATM?
Well, in some cases if ATM is available in your area you can cancel your account and get switched, however this can take weeks or months, and you need to make SURE this is possible for you by talking to VOL before you do this. Talk to tech support in order to find out if you can switch from frame relay to ATM in your area. Make sure you get your line distance checked first if you are trying to switch from FR to ATM otherwise switching will not change your speed. You should also think about whether being off the net for weeks is really worth a faster download speed for you. Q: Will I lose anything by getting the upgrade? A: If you have a “grandfathered” ex-Bell Atlantic account with free dial-up you will not get the price drop or speed upgrade unless you call in. However, if you do get the upgrade you will lose your free dial-up. If you want to get the upgrade and keep dial-up support you will have to purchase that package.
