Is there any way the help those women who face female on female rapes in prison?
Rapes happens in both male and female prisons because the worse penalty a prisoner can receive when caught raping another convict is more prison time or a bit of time in solitary. A few more years for a rape conviction doesn’t mean much to many people facing what already seems like an eternity in prison. Some people know they will never leave prison alive so once again, an extended sentence means nothing. Years ago, prisoners could face strappings/whippings if caught committing crimes inside the prison walls. If physical punishments were brought back into prisons, there would be far less rape and violence in the penitentiaries. It seems like a violent answer, but in reality would make prisoners feel safer (except for the prisoners still committing crimes such as rape).
