Is there any way that media activities can support the RIU programme?
A. Media activities and other forms of information exchanges are important components of the RIU because they contribute to increasing awareness of knowledge, inform people about how to use such knowledge, and influence policy decisions, all of which can have an impact on lowering poverty. Media activities can help inform people of innovative products and processes beneficial to the poor, or it can target those who work with policy matters to influence their decisions in such a way that introduces changes that benefit rural communities. The RIU is particularly keen to learn lessons and to measure impact from media activities as it will help us understand what makes good communications and how the dissemination of knowledge can be done in a way that is easier to understand, more influential and quicker to spread.
