Is there any type of formal training or certification available to become a Life Coach?
In Kenya? Most coaches around the world are governed by either the International Coaches Federation, European Coach Institute or International Council of Coaches. Coaches need to be certified by coaching training providers that can give credible and high quality certification. In Kenya, there is an NGO called Relief Foundation that runs coaching courses. There are so many types of coaching certifications available; each using their own model of coaching. And by the way coaching and facilitating workshops is very different from teaching and lecturing. If someone wants to get into the field, where should they start? Is the current environment welcoming to newcomers? I would advise someone to start by getting a good qualification in coaching under their belt and then to partner with someone more experienced. I believe there is always room for coaches who are committed to quality and who are committed to the growth of their clients. Tell me about your personal background? Where you grew up
