Is there any truth to the notion that wearing a bra causes breast cancer?
No, not true. Breast cancer is caused by cells in the body that for some reason start growing out of control. This can be caused by a genetic mutation or exposure to some evironmental toxin or both. Doing a self breast exam monthly and know ing your family history would be helpful. 75% of the breast cancer diagnoses are in women who had no family history. I encourage women whenever I speak to make the time to do this exam. If you are not sure how your doctor can show you how. Its never too late to start. I found my breast cancer 10 years ago during a self exam, had my doctor check it and while she said it didn’t feel worrisome she checked it out because she felt that she only does her exam once a year on me as a patient, I was doing this monthly. She felt I knew my body better than she did and she was right. Lots of misinformation out there. So glad you asked the question.
