To encourage excellence: – assistance for a child increases by 10% if the child achieves academic excellence – assistance increases by 5% if the child’s performance is above average – assistance does not increase or decrease if the child’s performance is average – if a child fails a class, assistance is decreased to 1,500 rupees per year until the class is passed The Assistance to Widows Committee determines the standards for the above categories of performance.
