Is there any scientifically gathered empirical data supporting the belief that homosexuality is a concious lifestyle choice?
There is no data or evidence that being gay is a conscious choice. I find the whole idea absurd. It is not as if we were attracted to both men and women and simply decided to choose being gay. Why on earth would we choose something that is going to make our life more difficult, possibly cost us friends and family, and make us the object of many people ridicule and scorn? Being gay isn’t a choice the same way that being straight isn’t a choice. You just are. The only choice in the matter is whether you choose to hide your sexuality and live in the closet or not. And the suggestion that it is a problem that one would need to seek help for is offensive to me.
