IS THERE ANY REQUIREMENT TO SHOW SETTLEMENT FUNDS AS PART OF THE IMMIGRATION PROCESS, IN THE FEDERAL PROGRAMME?
If you have applied under the Federal programme the principal applicant must have a sufficient sum of money at his/her disposal to meet his/her basic needs and those of his/her family during a minimum period of six months. He/she must be able to demonstrate that he/she has this money at the point of submission of his/her application. He/she must take into account that there are various costs associated with his/her immigration as well as that of the people accompanying him/her prior to his/her arrival in Canada (immigration fees levied by Canada, transportation costs and other expenses). The amount of money that you need to have to support your family for the first six months of life in Canada is determined by the size of your family and your destination in Canada.
