Is there any relation between Vaastu and astrology ?
Vaastu and astrology both have originated from the Vedas. They are inter – dependent on each other. They both derive from other and complement each other as well. As much as five basic elements, nine planets, 12 houses and ten directions are common to both the sciences. Vaastu Shastra, while trying to find out muhurta (auspicious moments) has to depend on astrology to find out the right time and an astrologer while performing yagnas has to depend on Vaastu to have an idea of the location. While both the sciences are independent and complete by themselves, a joint study helps for a better understanding. That is why both the sciences have been incorporated into 64 basic arts and sciences as envisaged in the Vedas.
