Is there any regulation regarding the length of golf clubs?
A common question that is often posed by golfers across the world is that of length – golf club length. There are at the time of writing article no regulations or standards of any golf club configuration in the golf equipment industry. All manufacturers of golf clubs are entitled to produce clubs to any specification. This is entirely down to the absence of any regulatory body within the golf equipment industry to establish and deploy strict specifications of golf clubs. Despite the absence and control of a regulatory body in manufacturing golf clubs, most golf drivers are produced between 45″ and 45.5″ long. Ladies golf drivers are typically produced between forty four and forty four and a half inches long. Fairway woods in comparison to other golf clubs do vary in length. There is often a 1-inch discrepancy with 3-woods (men’s golf clubs), ladies fairway woods are typically 1inch shorter than the equivalent men’s club.
