DR. PI-SUYNER: Not on the glycemic basis. There’s other reasons, which you’ve heard about, you know. So-called empty calories and the fact that you’re getting no vitamins and minerals when you’re eating the sugar and so forth. So, personally, I think 18 percent sugar intake is very high in this country and it contributes very significantly to the caloric load that we’re eating. So, I personally thing for other reasons, cutting back on sugar is probably a good thing, but not from a glycemic index approach, since it’s a low glycemic index food. DR. GRUNDY: Okay, second question was, you through up that one hypothesis about the insulin exhaustion theory from overstimulation, whether it be from excess calories or whatever it’s from.
