Although this is not veiw from academia, they seem to operate from the premise that we are all born with a ‘blank slate’ and i’ve even heard researchers boast about being able to produce brain surgeons from any dozen children born anywhere in the world with the right upbringing. In some cultures where education is valued less it’s going hinder the number of brain surgeons they produce but might only provide a superficial reason for something they are ill inclined to achieve anyway. Whereas in other cultures the opposite is true, they are more disciplined and produce doctors, lawyers and other professionals but if that is supporting people who are already gifted with certain talents onboard. Certainly some aptitudes we have an inclination towards will not be fully realized without outside encouragment and there are exceptions to every rule but if you are born having the dexterity to swing a golf ball 500 yards with minimal effort it makes little sense to study medicine or law when there
