Is there any quote that talks about Tom Robinsons family relationship in To Kill a Mockingbird?
I really cannot remember any reference being made by Tom about his family or anyone else referring to his family. It was highlighted of his gentle nature in the story… maybe we can take from that our own assumptions that Tom was a hard-working family man who did his best to keep out of trouble in a racially discriminative environment. Throughout Tom’s trial he had his family members there and remained calm. He did not lose his temper or disgrace himself in anyway. One can assume that Tom was a kind person and was just the victim of hatred due to the colour of his skin. His family showed courteousness to Atticus after his trial which would imply that Tom believed in manners and respect, even showing these characteristics towards white-folk. In many ways, Tom and his family were probably more ‘decen’t than any of the other families within the town.
