first of all you need to find out what the cause is because different diagnoses warrant different treatments. Some problems can be fixed surgically and others require a hearing aid.She needs to see an ear ,nose and throat specialist and then take it from there.I recently had a stapedectomy which is the removal of the stapes in the middle(smallest bone in the body)and a prosthetic was placed in it’s spot. When the doctor took out the packing after a week I couldn’t hear.I could feel the prosthetic moving around so 12 days later I had to have another surgery where he took out the old prosthetic and put in another one.He took out the packing after a week – still no hearing.I am going back on Friday and now if I put the phone really close to my ear I can hear the dial tone but that is about it.I am not trying to discourage you because this type,if she needs it ,has a 96% accuracy rate.See the doctor please.Good Luck!
