• Although suspension / redeployment pending an investigation should not be viewed as disciplinary action, naturally it can be seen as such by the individual and others. Tact and care are therefore needed, as well as careful consideration of the impact on the person being suspended. Can the impact be minimised? • The reason for suspension should be clearly explained to the person being suspended • Suspension / redeployment should only be for as long as necessary, reviewed and extended in line with suspension procedures Please refer to the section Strategy Meeting and Guidance on Suspension.
