Is there any off-gassing from Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation?
All manufactured materials will off-gas to some extent. Some building materials will off-gas in large quantities. Medium density spray polyurethane foam (certified foams) meeting the CAN/ULC S705.1 Material Standard is the only building product that is tested for occupant conditions. The industry and then taken an unprecedented stance and required that all manufacturers meet a maximum limit of 1/100th of the government allowable limit. Certified foam from these manufacturers meet this requirement in less than 24 hours. PolarTech Spray Foam recommends that the building being sprayed NOT be occupied for 24 hours after the spray polyurethane foam is applied. This allows the time necessary for the product to offgas.
