There is currently no obligation on Public Authorities to publicise details of previous information requests they have received under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. However, we are aware that a number of Public Authorities do make details of previous requests received, and details of information released subsequently, after removing any details which may identify the requester. Some Public Authorities undertake this action in order to make information which has, for example, been asked for by a number of different requesters over a length of time, more accessible to members of the public, and to allow those individuals who are interested in that information the opportunity to view it without having to make a request under this legislation.
