Is there any malpractice insurance provided for the attorneys that do volunteer their services?

JD: Malpractice is provided through all of the local pro bono programs. In two of the local pro bono programs, the malpractice is primary insurance; that is, if you take a case through their program and theres a problem, their malpractice insurance will cover it. In the other two programs, secondary insurance is provided, meaning if you already have malpractice insurance, the pro bono programs will be a secondary resource. If you have no malpractice insurance, the local pro bono programs insurance will then be primary. Attorneys can check with their local pro bono program for additional information. Could you touch briefly on special projects that are underway in the commonwealth? JD: All pro bono programs have something exciting going on. In Western Kentucky, the Mediation Division of the Administrative Office of the Courts and the Lawyers Care Volunteer Attorney Program are seeking volunteer lawyers to work on a time-limited, task-specific mediation program starting in Warren County.
