Is there any kind of gluten free or low bread available from the major food stores?
Answer Hi Vanessa! According to your profile, you live in Canada. I am not sure how available gluten free bread is in regular grocery stores there (I have visited and they seem to have more foods in major grocery stores only found in health food stores here in America) but gluten free bread is available in the freezer in American health food stores. Gluten free bread has a very short shelf life and needs to be kept frozen, which is perfect if you like toast because you can put the slices straight from the freezer into the toaster. I would check the frozen pastry section of your grocery store first then move on to health food stores. Major stores here in America do offer gluten free bread, brownie, and muffin mixes. If you search online you can also find plenty of recipes. Celiac disease (an intolerance to gluten) is thought to be much more common than it is diagnosed and Europe is much better at diagnosing but as it becomes diagnosed more, more foods are becoming available.
