Is there any historical evidence for the existence of King David and Solomon?
There is plenty of King David. Since 1992 we have been finding artifacts of all kinds that bare the symbol of David on them. This signifies that they were purchased from the Kingdom of Isreal and that it’s king was David. As for Solomon, we have hardly any actual proof ,last I checked (other than his father existing), but things may have changed since my last extensive research on the subject, which was in 2002. edit: I’m sorry that I don’t have any websites. I first was told this from a theology professor, then saw some of the actual pottery findings on the History channel. Later on I saw the findings in seperate magazines. The David findings are from actual archaelogical digs, not something that was sold near the temple. Of course, it is going to be hard to find any proof of Solomon or David anyway. No one is allowed to dig at the temple, and that is where we’d have the best chance to find something. Hence, all of David’s proof comes from neighboring countries that traded with Isreal
