Is there any hidden reason to the decision to make it a factory specializing in producing flavor extracts?
There were a couple of things. It is this odd item that is in grocery stores all over the place that you dont think about that often. I was in Austin with my Realtor looking at houses and he pointed to this really nice house in this really nice neighborhood and said That is where the Adams Extract family lives and I thought it was interesting that someone made it big from those little bottles of flavoring. I was also interested with food flavoring from this book that was laying around in the dorms that talked about it–Im old enough to remember the time when everyone was afraid of Red Dye #2–that I found really interesting. Also, when people would ask me what I was working on, I would tell them that it was about a guy who owns a factory that makes vanilla extract and they would start laughing–I figured I was one step ahead of the game. Well, it is funny because it is one of those professions, not unlike the propane industry, that you cant imagine that anyone would ever willingly get
