Is there any fine for the lender if the reposession agents violated the”breach of peace” law?
Olena: We don’t have a lot of information about your situation. However, this might be a good time to ask yourself what it is that you’re trying to accomplish. Sounds like you might be mad, angry, or otherwise upset. And that would be understandable. However, any fine would go to the government – not you. While there are plenty of laws regarding debt collection, repossession, and the rest, chasing this is probably not going to net you very much. If this is an extraordinary situation, with severe damage to your person or other property, then it might be worthwhile to consult a local attorney. Chances are, however, this is going to fall into the “just let it go” category. That is probably not the answer you want to hear. But it is probably how this one is going to turn out.
