Is there any evidence on the environmental benefits of fly ash bricks?

YES. From a study conducted in July 2007, entitled “Environmental Benefits of Greenest Bricks,” manufacturing each ton of fly Greenest Brick instead of clay brick will reduce emission of carbon dioxide – the major greenhouse gas — by 0.0434 ton. If in the future Greenest Bricks were to replace 50% of the clay bricks in the U.S., there will be a reduction of clay bricks usage in the U.S. by 10 million tons each year, which will reduce the emission of greenhouse gas (carbon dioxide) by 435,000 tons each year, equivalent to removing 400,000 cars from roads. Furthermore, it would reduce total air pollutants (CO, NOx, SOx, particulate matters, and volatile organic compounds) by an amount equivalent to 920 million vehicle miles of truck use.
