Is there any difference installing the circuit breaker live wire from the top or bottom?

A circuit breaker that fits into a breaker box should only have 1 place to connnect a wire to it. This would be a screw on the edge of the breaker when it’s installed. If it has 2 screws you have a 220 volt breaker. There should be 2 screws on a 220 volt breaker. If your circuit is 110 you shouldn’t be using a 220 volt breaker. A 220 volt breaker opens both circuits when it trips. If you try to use 2 separate 110 volt circuits separately from a 220 volt breaker both circuits will open if one circuit trips.
