Is there any difference between the Bible and King James version of the Bible?
The simple answer: The King James Version is one translation of The Bible. There are literally dozens of translations of The Bible (known as “versions”) available in English. The longer answer: It’s like the Lady Guest version of the Mabinogion and the Davies version. Unless you read Welsh, you’re going to be reading a version. The Lady Guest version is the original and most well-known English translation, but hardly the best. The Bible is a translation of a foreign language work, actually a collection of books that were written in 3 languages: ancient Hebrew, ancient Aramaic and ancient Greek.
