Is there any difference between Sleet and Ice Pellets?

Coming from a meteorologist… there is no difference in fact ice pellets is the proper name for it and the abbreviation for when sleet (i.e. ice pellets) is falling in the synoptic observation code is IP. So there is no difference, the wording can be used interchangably.
