I dont think there is; there shouldnt be. They differ somewhat in the mechanism of distribution, but its the same drug by different manufacturers. Does a high PSA indicate a more aggressive disease? I would go by the Gleason score – that seems to be the best overall indicator. Your cancer doesnt make much PSA, particularly the higher grade cancers make very little PSA. Is hormone therapy a curing treatment? Generally, hormone therapy is considered as non-curing, but palliative, which means to soften or control. The definition of cure may vary for some of you. There are those who think of cancer as a chronic disease and the goal is to keep it under control for the remainder of your life. Many people can do that with hormonal therapy, both continuous and intermittent. For those patients, the therapy is curative.
