Is there any deeper meaning to certain rhyme schemes in poetry?

Sometimes. A rhyme between two particular words can suggest that the words are linked in some way perhaps because they have a similar meaning but maybe the poet wants them to heavily contrast with each other. Rhyme also often has the effect of lightening the tone or mood of a poem. In some poems like Blake’s London this can contrast with the ugly subject matter whereas in others the light-hearted tone may be reflective of a humorous subject. Finally from me, in some forms like sonnets, rhyming couplets are used to make certain lines stand out from the rest. In this case rhyme is most often used to give the poem’s central meaning some emphasis above the rest of what is going on. This is also the case inShakespearean plays where rhyming couplets and passages are usually the most important. Hope that helps.
